2/1/14 Black History Hero: George Washington Carver


George Washington Carver was born into slavery in Diamond, Missouri, around 1864. The exact year and date of his birth are unknown. Carver went on to become one of the most prominent scientists and inventors of his time, as well as a founder along side Booker T. Washington, of the Tuskegee Institute in Tuskegee, Alabama. George Washington carver created dyes, plastics, and gasoline out of the peanut. He died in 1943.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Washington_CarverImage
