Dr. Yew

Yuma “Dr. Yew” Bellomee, founder of Yew 360,  was raised between Bronx and Mount Vernon, New York.  It has always been said, by family and community members alike, that he possesses “an old soul”, referring to his seemingly wise and precocious ways as a child.  Brought up in ethnically cultural surroundings, Yuma found his first calling in the form of music, when he first gravitated towards the West African djembe drum at the age of 9 months.  Along with music and culture, he also realized the importance of wellness at an early age.  With natural intuition, he would often take on the responsibility of trying to awaken health consciousness within family members, or to motivate them to make better lifestyle choices. Therefore, it was nothing but a natural fit when his father introduced him to the master traditional healers of the community, who would turn out to further mold him into his purpose.  In addition to feeding him their guidance and knowledge of medicinal herbs, foods, nutrition, etc., they also inspired him to learn independently and apply his information and experience to help the spiritual, mental, physical, and environmental states of himself, his family, and his community, to which he is dedicated.  To accomplish this task, he combines a variety of traditional healing modalities with current information, logic, divine inspiration, an exceptional support network of health professional service providers, and love.  Yuma is now certified as a Holistic Health Counselor through the International Board of African Thinkers, Traditional Priests, Priestesses, and Religion, Inc., and has also been registered as a Naturopath through the Health Professional Licensing Administration of Washington DC in 2009.  He has been featured in numerous radio programs, natural hair, health & beauty expos, magazine articles, and community and school programs as a speaker and workshop facilitator on wholistic wellness.

Secora Hoffenden

“Where there is imbalance we see dis-ease yet, through balance we find healing.”

Known for her bright smiles, tight hugs, and charming personality, Secora is an Herbalist and founder of Empressive Herbs and has developed a unique ability to connect symptoms to the actual source of imbalance. She combines the use of whole herbs, foods, water and positive lifestyle changes to holistically balance one’s mind, body, and soul.

Growing up she suffered from Fibromyalgia, a chronic pain syndrome and was advised the medication was only making her illness worse; however it was the only option she had. At the age of 16 she could not fathom being on medication for the rest of her life.  Searching to find an alternative way she came up empty handed without any inclination that there was such a thing as an Herbalist.  We are all surrounded by and use herbs, but do we know about the powerful healing abilities of herbs? Secora did not and since learning this, she knows there are many people who are in her shoes. She has developed a passion to share positive information about the benefits of herbs with all those she connects with.

Currently specializing in Detox, Cleansing and Hydrotherapy, she designed and formulated the Empressive Vitality herbal product line for cleansing, toning and nourishing of the entire body. They are tailored to fit the needs of the community she serves; those with high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, digestive issues, infections, sexual dysfunction and other health challenges.

As a child Secora always wanted to be a doctor, but could not understand why there were so many people in hospitals not getting better. She gave up on that dream; well at least she thought she did. She fell in love with the deaf community and always believed she can express herself wholeheartedly using the entire body versus simple words. She now combines her passion to serve the needs of the deaf community as well as herbalism.

Secora is known to always be smiling and sharing compassion with all those she encounters and gives that same love and patience to all of her clients. No two souls are alike, so she takes the time to consult with her clients to build the whole story of what is going on inside their body and create customized plans for each of her clients –always believing, if you go the extra mile, you can make someone’s heart smile!

Secora has completed traditional herbal medicine training at Original Herbal Remedies in June 2013. She is also a Kundalini Reiki Master.
