As Artists, we all know how important (and MANDATORY) it is to travel so that we can continue to learn, grow, and remain inspired both as Artists and as Spirit beings in human form, so here in today’s entry I’m listing some awesome art shows around that’s been brought to my attention. I plan on going to these events–maybe we’ll cross paths at one of them? 🙂
- The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art in Washington, D.C., is currently hosting an art exhibit featuring the extensive collection of African art of Camille Cosby, wife of actor and comedian Bill Cosby. The exhibit opened on November 9th, 2o14 and will be on display until 2016. That’s plenty of time to check it out!
- Right here in Philly, the Philadelphia Museum of Art just opened an exhibit called Represent: 200 Years of African American Art, which runs from January 10th, 2015 until April 5th, 2015.
- The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is currently having an exhibit called Warriors and Mothers: Epic Mbembe Art which features the wood carvings of the southeastern Nigeria.
These are just three exhibits on my itinerary. Are there any art shows going on in your city that you’d like to share? Feel free to let me know in the comment box below! Maybe we could even make it a group outing of it! ❤
